Lota

Lota is one of the widely used household items in India. Every single household in India would have a Lota in one form or other. Archeological records state that the Lota was used as early as 2000 B.C. Whether one wants to bathe themselves, water plants, drink water, carry oil or ghee for rituals, there is a Lota for that.
Lota is a simple round structure with a wide mouth and with or without a spout. Lotas are made in various sizes to suit the purpose. They are mainly made out of Brass and Copper decades back, but nowadays, they are also available in Stainless Steel and Plastic. Copper Lota is widely used in Ayurveda and has health benefits when drinking water stored in it. Lotas are admired for their simple structure and multifunctionality.
