Water Boiler

A Water Boiler or Samovar is a traditional copper water boiler used to boil water for brewing tea. These boilers are a Russian invention and then adapted by the Indian Subcontinent. The only difference between the Russian boilers and the Indian Boilers is that Russian Boilers used to brew tea with tea leaves directly in the urn, whereas Indian boilers only boil the water. These Boilers traditionally used charcoal and wood induced fire, which heats a vertical tube that runs inside the urn and heats the water for hours. Nowadays, the boilers are perched on top of a gas stove to boil water. Though traditional tea houses are still using these boilers, they are now widely replaced with a more convenient and simple setup due to their high maintenance. These boilers are now a symbol of nostalgia for people born before the last millennium.
